Interesting Read

I regularly read a blog by a person who goes by the name of Graylo, and a POST that he just made really caught my attention.  While he goes over a lot of the math behind the spells and talents we use, i dont really pay much attention to the insane bits in the middle of the equations, and focus mainly on the results and figures there.  Because of this I am temped yet again to possibly rethink how i might want my talents in the future.  Grr, for not really reading up on all of this right when I dinged 80.  But with that aside, I really think that it might be the best move, and I will figure out a revised talent build tomorrow at work.

DPS and Raiding: My Take

The little red arrow tells me that Thrall is currently non-existent for me to be able to mess with things in-game, so I thought that I could spend some time thinking about my performance for raiding. To burn the time I clicked on over to Elitist Jerks for some reading material. There are a few different opinions as to how to accomplish the task of attaining higher raid DPS, and I might follow a few of them. One of the theories is to drop talents from Nature's Reach, to be able to put the points into other, more DPS oriented talents. The only issue I have with dropping the talents from NR is that if done, I would lose the 30% threat reduction that it gives me. I'm not sure how much I might actually want or need that for raiding. I currently DO have it, and am not experiencing any issues with managing my threat. There are also lots of talk regarding the issue of mana and going /oom, but I have found that for the most part, if there is at least one Shaman, or sPriest, or a combo of those, or anything else that gives any sort of mana buffing that my mana is not really a problem. I might test out moving my points around to see where I can take things and improve my DPS, just to see what I can do.

*Edit* I might go with this talent spec to see what its like.

Gearing up for slowing down

The first post of 2009!!  Holy cow things have flown by since I was able to reactivate my account back at the beginning of December!  I flew threw 10 levels and have started to decently gear myself.  In the last week or so I've been slowly snatching up the gear I've had my eye on such as that Titansteel Guardian (although there are still lots of things I'd like to upgrade to) and it's been great. Really only issue now is that I am coming to the end of where I'm all paid up for my account. And I might be coming up on another period that I might have to be responsible and not spend my money on the pleasure of playing WoW. Only time will tell as to what the following months might bring. Carry on.
